Long drive to Dallas

We left Kimberly about 7 in the evening on Wednesday. We drove until midnight and made it to Spanish Fork Utah. Our plan was to try and stay at head of the storm. Roads were clear and dry to Moab. You can see snow at Arches National Park and we saw snow everywhere we went but the roads stayed clear until Friday morning in Gallup New Mexico. We woke up to 3 inches of snow. Scary driving up to the Continental Divide but then clear sailing and clear roads into Albuquerque. We stayed the night in Amarillo Texas and woke up to 30 degree weather but still no snow. We made it to Dallas and visited our friends Linda and Bill. That's when the ruckus began. They took us to a contra dance Saturday night. We then played music all day Sunday and Monday. Met lots of new friends great food and even a 4 hour pool tournament at their wonderful home in old Dallas.
1 footnote is that we just met Linda and Bill at a couple of bluegrass festivals last summer in Oregon and Washington. They are our age and we play lots of the same music. When they heard about our trip they generously invited us too stay with them in Dallas.
