Thursday and onto the leaf festival

On Monday we were told about a really cool weekend festival in a town 10 miles away called SWANA Noah the festival was very expensive but we were able to be accepted as volunteers the timing was that we would start the festival Thursday evening and work Friday Saturday and Sunday as things worked out on Thursday afternoon at 4 o'clock we were prepared to go and register we got into line along the side of a road with other volunteers ready to register the timing was that we had to all start no sooner than 430 at 425 the other cars pulled out on the highway into the registration line we attempted to pull out but our vehicle was broken.
We have been having trouble with the van since we left on the trip but the problem with only happen every week or two weeks the problem is in the fuel valve selector so when we would switch from front tank to back tank or vice a versa sometimes the car would die lately the car has been dying just going down the road and if we messed with the fuel selector switch sometimes it would start back up. This time it was broken for good
We decided to leave the car by the side of the road it was in front of a big trucking and gravel operation and only slightly in anybody's way it was 430 and  by 7:30 we had to be 10 miles away at another really cool contra dance at Warren Wilson College to a band called elixer with one of our favorite callers named Nils Friedland we hitch hiked to the dance . Our main ride being in the back of a pickup with a bunch of lawn mowers the pickup actually quit going down the road as well but the guy could get it started and he delivered us  right to the dance. I have videos of the dance we were then fortunate enough to run into a fellow  (andrew) we danced with several times in Florida and he was glad to give us a ride back to our vehicle after the dance so all worked out wonderfully.
I had missed my first volunteer shift going to the dance but since our vehicle is broken down they adjusted and gave me a new shift to work so we attended the leaf festival working at pouring beer or checking ID's in the food line or making sweet potato ole chicken enchiladas in the kitchen or just helping out clean up.
The festival itself was lots of jamming for me lots of dancing for Martha and me and lots of people watching it was like stepping back into the 60's people were very friendly and very colorful lots of Dreadnots all kinds of different costumes some people on stilts just a big laid-back Festival run like a Google corporation click click click so everybody had what they needed Campting in beautiful settings swimming canoeing ziplining laying in the Sun and listening to great music at four different stages
